Year 2 Rapid Recall A3 Whiteboards 15 pack

We love them! We are using them to boost SEN children, target children tracking just below expected standard and for a challenge for HAB children. We have even ordered some more for other year groups. At the moment we are ‘teaching’ children how to use them i.e. if they cannot read then they are learning what each box wants them to do. We are very much using as 1:1 between teacher/TA and pupil or for small group interventions and encouraging mathematical dialogue.

The children love the rapid recall boards. They ask to do them again and again. Teachers and learning support staff learn loads watching children choose their way through the boards. They have proved invaluable to focus adults on what children can do more than what they cannot, and then to build from what they can. I have seen massive confidence boosts as children as they return to the same board with a different number, having learnt what a question is asking with one number. Overall. A very powerful classroom tool… a little input goes a very, very long way.’

Kind of resource that you would spend hours looking for on the internet and then would only find one game – amazing that these games fulfil so many objectives across the concept and are far superior to ones found on the internet.

Really like these – they help children to use and understand mathematical vocabulary. Some children with poorer literacy skills need the games explained to them but once understood can access and enjoy the games. The children love these, many want to play the same game a number of times

It is great to see some of the boys engaging as they do not often choose to engage in maths work. – Great variety of games that motivate the children – they love the spinners. -The games are simple and easy to understand which helps the children keep on task.

Used these in a parents ‘SHARE’ morning as felt they were great for encouraging children and parents to work together on primary maths. Good consolidation of algebra – really helps the children to get the hang of it.

Good for starters but seem a bit unclear but I am sure if I read the booklet included this would help. The children do like them as they have pictures which make them think about the maths.

I use these as my starter activities and also if children finish work early. I have these as a resource that is always on the table so that children can access them at any time of the day. – I like how they incorporate so many different number concepts and how they can be used so easily by all abilities by simply adapting the number. – As a teacher they show up the children’s gaps in learning so that I know what concepts I need to teach more.

I like the recall aspect – we do a scheme called BIG MATHS and it fits really well with this. Good settling down activity when children enter class at different times – Ofsted really big on no time being wasted and children could instantly get on with this. Good for group work to enable teacher to get on with focus group activity whilst knowing all children will be doing maths without the need for support.

These are my favourite resource – I have been trying to do something similar in their maths books but it is not half as much fun nor as effective. -Love how they keep maths concepts bubbling and a great range of concepts included. -Not practical in laminated form, but the new ones are not like this. -Great for fluency, children could use these all the time.

The Rapid Recall Boards are a fantastic resource – great to pop out in spare ten minutes if children finished their work. -I love the idea that children set their own level of challenge through their choice of numbers. -Great as a SATS revision tool as keeps number concepts to the forefront of children’s minds. -An open-ended challenge so addresses all needs of children in class whatever their ability.

It helps me practise some things that I had forgotten how to do and then I can talk to my partner to see if they agree as we choose the same number -Like how we get to choose the number, much better than boring worksheets as we get input into what we do. -I like that we could choose which parts to do first and did not have to work through in order. -It would be fun to do these group against group and see who could finish first – a bit like a team challenge.

I really like the range of games and the facts that there is different equipment to use – this excites and motivates the children – Really surprised at how independent the children are at using the games in normal lesson they are constantly asking for support but not when they play these. – Think these are good for a homework activity to help parents understand what the children are learning.

– Games are similar to ones created in the past but liked how they were linked specifically to the new curriculum objectives. – Most of the children can be independent playing and understanding these games because the instructions are easy to follow. The last half of the lesson could be taken up just explaining the rules of other games and these do not cause this problem. – Good variety of games using different resources which engage the children. – Have not come across games before that are algebraic.
